The habitat of the Caretta Caretta and many historical monuments like the ancient city of Kaunos, Dalyan is a very special seaside resort where one can eat the most delicious fish.
Kaunos was founded in the 10th century BC by one of the two children of Apollo’s son King Miletus and named after him. The site is rich in remains from the Classical, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods.
Dalyan is situated on a canal connecting Lake Köyceğiz, which originated from the accumulation of alluvium over time, to the Marmara Sea. Thanks to the sea breeze the weather in summer is rather refreshing and cool while the winter is mild and rainy.
The Dalyan Iztuzu Beach is home to the Caretta Caretta turtles which are among the endangered species and loveliest creatures on earth. Entrance to the beach is forbidden from sundown to sunrise as a measure to protect these species from extinction and to give their offspring a chance to live.
Blessed with hot springs and mud baths, Dalyan is in high demand among visitors who are looking for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Dalyan heartily welcomes all visitors who want to spend a calm and peaceful holiday
