In Ephesus, the archeological attractions that were dug up between 1867-1905 were converted to British Museum; and findings from 1905-1923 were taken to Vienna. With the founding of the New Turkish Republic, the govt. Taking antiques out of the country and requiring the artifacts that were taken outside the country back to Turkey. In 1964.
About the Impressive Museum of Ephesus
The Ephesus Museum was founded and therefore the findings from the excavations at Ephesus dig and around were put to the present museum. At this wonderful and well-organised museum, there aren't only antiques from the placed excavations at Ephesus land site, but also the artifacts from the Cukurici Mound, the basilica of St John, and also the Temple of Artemis. The video room is the first room before the fountain statues gallery.
