“Day trip to cairo from hurghada”
Jacq, 8/8/13
We would like to say a big thank you to Memphis |Tours our tour guide Meha and driver for a wonderful and informative day trip around Cairo and the Pyramids Sphinx and Museum, plus the Coptic area.... Meha was a very very educated tour guide perfect english speaking and a pleasure to spend the day with her, and we learnt so much from her about everything, the grandchildren took everything in she taught them and even now a week later still remember it all, no small feat for 11 and 7 yr old :) The driving in cairo was chaotic but we felt safe the whole journey from being picked up a airport to being dropped off to go back to resort in Hurghada, well organised and completely safe journey from start to finish... we cut our day short, the original flight back to hurghada was 10.30ish pm as the heat really got to me by late afternoon and we went to airport and caught a 7.30pm flight instead, our choice. Wonderful tour and something the grandchildren charlotte and zak will never forget (zak being 7 was elated at seeing the tanks outside the museum and the soldiers waving at him :) made his day.
Meet and Greet, professional friendly tour guide, Memphis had it all even before we went I was extremely nervous about all the troubles in Egypt but was reassured and was looked after 5* class. Thank You Memphis.

“Best tour company ever!!!”
Darren7Banbury, 5/19/13
We pre-booked two excursions with Memphis back in England. A jeep safari and a day trip to Cairo from Makadi Bay.

On the Jeep Safari we were picked early from our hotel and had an amazing varied day. Our tour guide Abdul was great and looked after all day.

The day trip to Cairo was one of the best days of my life. We went for the private tour and it was just my wife and me! We had a private car with driver and an Egyptoligist called Ansary who was great. It was very informative and let the day go at our pace. If we wanted to stay longer/shorter at one place it was no problem. We would highly recommend.

Thank you Memphis for 2 great excursions!

Reliable tour company
Rfpaton, 4/22/13
We enlisted Memphis to organise tours to Luxor and the Giza pyramids on 2 separate days. booking through them was well organised and our guides, Ahmed Amine(Luxor) and Mohamed Salam(Cairo) very knowledgeful and with excellent English. They picked us up from our ship at Safaga and Sohkna and drove us to the sites. I have no hesitation in recommending the company and these particular guides. Only small negative is that they were a little unwilling to provide a further discount when we added extra members to our party.

Incredible experience, would go back and do it all again in a second!
Momty, 4/15/13
From the first email to the last goodbyes, this was an experience our family will never forget. As an American family with 3 small and adventurous boys, we were warned and sometimes hesitant about taking this trip. I am so pleased that we went ahead as we had an amazing experience. Memphis Tours were polite, professional and hard working. Always keeping us informed of plans and options, they were extremely helpful and friendly with the boys and we felt safe and treated with respect at all times. Our tour guide Medhat was a gem. We were easily able to communicate our wishes and make changes to plans at any time. We have made a new friend and hope to visit again! I highly recommend a visit to Egypt with Memphis Tours and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or travel with them again.

“Go to Cairo
Dohaboy, 3/7/13
Cairo is obviously a world highlight and it's totally safe now. I've been before, and I didn't notice anything different: the insane traffic is the same, the persistent sellers are the same, and the amazing sights are the same! Memphis tours was very professional and I recommend them. Our guide Amany was very knowledgeable, personable and has excellent English. I hope people start going back to Egypt because the country needs tourists and it's a great place to visit. Taking an organized tour even for the Egyptian Museum and pyramids like we did really makes a big difference. It's easier to manage everything as they know where to go and what to do and you get a lot of information that helps to appreciate everything. I really recommend Memphis tours and Amany and I hope people start going to Egypt again!

Memphis Tour was great
RossD, 2/17/13
In Dec 2012 we made a daytrip from Hurghada to Cairo. We were concerned due to the political situation, but as tourist there is nothing to fear. We checked several companies, and MT turned out to give best value. From home we had some questions, and Maged answered them all with a lot of patience. As this was a private tour, we were picked up at our hotel, and at the airport in Cairo we were met by our driver there, Mohammed A. At the Pyramides our guide, Nesreen M. waited. They were to our disposal all day.
Nasreen was such a lovely lady, and she was so well informed about the country's history and the current political situation as well.
We also visited The Egyptian Museum situated close to the Tahir Square, and we took a walk to the Square (on our own risk) which we had seen so many times on tv during the last month. We felt really safe, at daytime it was calm there.
A nice lunch at a Nile restaurant was also included, and instead of visiting a marked, we prefered to be taken to a shoppingmall.
This came out to be a memorable day, and next year we plan to take our children and grandchildren to Egypt, and we want to give them a daytrip to Cairo, and will definately choose Memphis Tour.

“Great day tour to Cairo”
DimitriLS, 2/5/13
I was having a 5 day vacation in Hurghada and decided to see a Pyramids.
As it was a pretty long distance, and the bus drive would take 6-7 hours I started to look into alternatives.
I found an offer from Memphis Tours for a Day Trip to Cairo with a Airplane and I tried to book it.
They usually offer the tours on Wednesdays, this wouldn't fit my time line so I asked for an alternative and they organized a tour especially for us on Sunday. Through it cost a bit more.

So now about a tour.
Very well organized and on the contrary to the usual behavior - on time.
We had been picked up by the guide at 7 am at our hotel.
We've been driven to the airport. The flight took about an hour. In Cairo airport another guide picked us up and we had been driven to the Pyramids. There we picked up an egyptologist who accompanied us for the rest of the day. He told us about Pyramids, we went to two view points and then to the Sphinx. He guided us through a history a bit, showed some materials etc. After that we went to a perfume shop for a bit. Than we'd been invited to a dinner in an Egyptian restaurant. After the meal we went to a Egyptian Museum in the Cairo city center and had an 1,5 hours guided tour through museum. Afterwards we had some time to walk through the museum ourself. As the last stop of this day we went to a Khan el-Khalili, apparently the oldest market in the Middle East where we could buy some gifts and drink a very good Egyptian Tee with Mint and Lemon.
After this the driver took us back to the airport (around 9 pm), we flown back to Hurghada and had been brought to the Hotel at almost midnight.
It was a great day full of new experiences and unbelievable places.

The only thing... It could be a bit more historical information.

All the entry fees were included in the tour already as well as the meal. The only thing we had to pay extra were entry to the Pyramid itself.

Cairo Trip with Memphis Tours Egypt
Steve, 10/7/12
We booked a trip from El Gouna to Cairo to visit the Pyramids, The Great Sphinx , Egyptian Museum and the Hanging church. We booked it prior to our holiday with Mohamed Sakr who was very professional & attentive to our needs. Everything was very well planned from our pick up from the Hotel to the flight & then the personal touch of having our own guide. Mr Ahmed Sayed Shihab who has huge in depth of knowledge of ancient Egyptian history. & driver Osam who I have to say is not afraid to take on Cairo traffic !!! Which has to be seen to be believed.! What a day of incredible wealth of history ! I would thoroughly recommend Memphis Tours & definatly use them again.
Thank you very much for a very enjoyable day !

Memphis Tours (Day trip from Hurghada to Cairo by Flight
Jopa, 7/13/12
Yesterday we had the pleasure of a Day Trip from Hurghada to Cairo by Flight, operated by Memphis Tours and it was better than we could have ever expected.

From the moment of first contact with Fatima Sayed, we knew that we were in capable hands. She replied to my email within a couple of hours and then webchat with me to clear up any additional questions I had. She really made me feel comfortable and in capable hands. The night before our tour, we were emailed names and phone numbers of every Memphis employee we would be in contact with - from the person picking us up from our hotel in Hurghada to the person waiting for us at the airport to the general manager of Memphis tours.

We were picked up at 4.15 am by a friendly driver AND English-speaking Memphis tours rep who took us to the airport. The rep asked us to wait in the A/C while he went and checked us in and picked up our boarding passes. Then we boarded a small charter flight which lasted an hour to Cairo (by the way it is WELL worth the extra few Euro to take the 1-hour flight rather than the 6+hour bus ride each way). In Cairo we were met by Amr, another Memphis rep. He took us to the clean and cool car, driven by Ahmed Mosen. Ahmed speaks limited English but communicates with his smile and mischievous sense of humor. He made sure that we had water and candies and he took care of belongings that we left in the car during site visits.

We were then taken to meet our incredible guide, Emad Selee.

Emad loves history and Egypt. No doubt about it. And through his passion, he takes you on not only an informative tour, but also an emotional one. I felt like I understood the history, culture, pain and happiness of each site we visited. He even added a couple of stops not listed on the itinerary (like the Papyrus museum & shop...WOW) and he acted as our expert photographer! There was no question that we could ask that Emad couldn't answer. He was really, really fantastic. We could have spent days and days in the Egyptian Museum with Emad (and I don't really like museums) discussing the meaning and symbols of everything we found. Emad challenged us to think and participate in a discussion with him, not just listen to his talking all the time. This made for a much more interesting tour as we were fully engaged for the whole day.

At the end of the tour we were taken back to the airport by Amr who stayed with us until he made sure everything was OK and that we were checked in. Another short flight back to Hurghada and we were picked up by the same driver/rep as in the morning (I wish I hadn't forgotten his name as he was deserving of a mention here too!). The dinner at our hotel ends at 9.30 pm and we landed at 9.15 pm. When we asked the rep if he thought we would make it back to the hotel in time for dinner, he actually called our hotel and asked that they please keep the dinner open a bit longer as we were on our way back.

Overall, we felt like VIPs thanks to Memphis Tours.

I would just make one small suggestion and that is that when Memphis Tours sends the email confirmation for the tour, it would be helpful to add a little note that you will spend a big portion of your time outside in the sun without shade available. Had I known this, I would have worn a long-sleeve shirt and a hat.

Next time we are in Egypt, we will definitely book another Memphis Tours tour and request Emad as our guide :)

Thanks to everyone who made our trip so special.

Excellent day trip to Cairo
Fernando R, 5/28/12
We visited Egypt between 18/05/12 and 24/05/12, Memphis was our tour agency for one day trip from El Gouna to Cairo and we could not have selected a better company. They were very helpful from the first email that I sent until the last minute of service contracted. All employees are very dedicated and they did their best to support us during our trip. There are 2 persons that I need to talk in special, first is Mrs. Fattoush Saad, the tour was bought with her by email, she was always very fast and everything was organized in an excellent way. The second person and fundamental person for the success of our trip to Cairo was Emad Seleem, he was our guide tour during a full day in Cairo, in fact he was much more than I guide tour, he was a completely class room about Egypt, we could learn a lot about the history and culture of Egypt. If you go to Cairo, I am sure that Emad is the best guide tour that you can have there, he will not just show you the most important places of Cairo, but he will tell you everything that you want to know about each place, Egypt history or culture. We were there with 2 little children and he could manage in an excellent as we all recognize that is not easy to a tour guide to explain everything in a excellent way with 2 children playing/crying around. Many thanks Memphis Tours and in special many thanks to Emad XXX for a full interesting day visiting beautiful places and learning about Egypt.

Great Professionally arranged tour
Mazmo53, 11/16/11

My partner and I returned to Egypt this year after really enjoying a Nile Cruise last year. We decided to return to the same resort that we spent the second week at last year, El Gouna, as it was fabulous. We really wanted to visit Cairo but did not want a long coach journey, so decided we would prefer to fly. After looking on Trip Advisor, we contacted Memphis Tours by e-mail a couple of days prior to our departure. Fattoush, the young advisor was great, she arranged the trip, answered all our questions and made sure that we hav a full itinerary prior to our departure. Everything went like clockwork and the trip was amazing. We were collected at out hotel at 4.30 am for a 6 am flight to Cairo and we were home intime for dinner that night. Our driver(with our own air conditioned car) and guide were marvellous, they both took great care of us and were very knowledgable, thank you to them both for making our trip so special. A very nice lunch was included in the price in a restaurant overlooking the Nile. Wonderful trip, professionally arranged and operated by friendly, knowledgable staff, excellent value for money.

1 day Cairo Trip by Plane - Amazing, exceeded expectations an extremly attentive and reliable company
charlielou, 5/16/11

We spent 2 weeks in Egypt, one week nile cruise and one week stay in El Gouna. On 4th May while at El Gouna we had booked a day trip to Cairo with Mr Sakr of Memphis Tours. A modern, clean, air conditioned car picked us up on time from the hotel with a driver and tour rep, we were driven to the airport. We took the flight from Hurghada to Cairo and was met by another tour rep and another driver in a car similar to what we had earlier been picked up in. We were provided with bottles of water and our itinery explained. We drove and collected our Egyptologist at which point our tour rep left. We had the car for the whole day and the Egyptologist with us throughout the excursions. Maha the Egyptologist was very informative and took lots of photographs for us throughout the day too - Thank You! We visited Coptic Cairo, The Cairo Museum and the Pyramids and Sphinx which were all quite overwhelming. Mid way we stopped for lunch all provided and this was buffett style very nice and lots of choice. Throughout the day we were given fresh bottles of water when returning to the car. The last part of the day was supposed to be the bazaar but due to lack of tourism Maha advised us it may be better to go to the shopping mall which includes a replica of the market, we were given the choice and chose the shopping mall - a bonus being the air conditioning. We were given free time in the shopping mall and a collection time was arranged with the driver for him to drive us back to the airport, again we were not delayed. We were driven back to Cairo airport where we took our flight back to Hurghada. From Hurghada we were again picked up in the car and taken back to the hotel.

The day was super, a very long day but very much worth it to see the amazing sights of Egypt. This tour group were fantastic and very efficient, we didnt have to wait around as they were always on time. Everyone we came into contact with that day were friendly and very attentive to our needs. It was a very enjoyable day - very personal with it being just the two of us which was just perfect for our honeymoon. This was well worth the money, half of which you pay as a deposit and the other half of which you pay on the day to the tour rep. Fabulous, thank you memphis tours!

“Don't hesitate to book Memphis Tours. They deliver.”
doyouski, 12/27/10
My wife and I are fairly well traveled, and we took our first trip to Egypt in December. Since we were only there for a week and it was in an unfamiliar part of the world, we decided to do guided tours, which is not our usual way.

We were staying in Hurghada and booked two separate tours -- Luxor and Cairo. We are really glad we did because these trips would have been difficult to pull off on our own given that we were only there for a week.

Their trip advisor was very responsive to my emails and gave clear instructions and answered my questions promptly. Once in Egypt, the trip coordinators both spoke excellent English, and were very friendly and helpful. The pickups and dropoffs at the hotel were in a late model car -- very clean and comfortable -- and the drivers were both excellent, particularly the one in Cairo, which has world-class traffic.

But it's the guides at the sites who are the stars. We had "John" (Yahia Abdou Ahmed) in Luxor. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. John loved to answer our questions as we visited the Temple of Karnak and Valley of the Kings and he anticipated many of them. He's obviously very proud of his heritage.

In Cairo, Maha Mahmoud El Halwagy took us to a mosque, a Coptic Christian Church, the Egyptian Museum, the pyramids and the Sphinx. She, too, was extremely well versed about these sites and really brought our experience to life. Maha not only informed us about the antiquities we were seeing, but gave us valuable tips on how not to be hustled at the pyramids, introduced us to delicious pure sugar cane juice from one of her favorite street stands and gave us insights into daily life.

Memphis Tours is doing it right. They not only meet, but beat your expectations.

“Cairo Tours from Hurghada by flight”
Neo10122008, 4/9/10

We were a family of four, two adults and two youths, who stayed one week in Hurghada at the Marriott Hotel.
We were transferred from our hotel to the airport with a private minibus. We then took a flight to Cairo airport, where we were met by our private guide and driver. On the way to the Pyramids of Giza, we picked up our Egyptology guide, Hannah, who was going to guide us the whole day. We then went to see the Pyramids, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple. At all the places we got some time to explore for us selves, but first Hannah explained to us different stories and facts.

After, we went to a local restaurant in Cairo where we were served an Egyptian buffet. The restaurant was very nice, and it had a great view to the pyramids. This meal was included in the price. After we had eaten, we went to Old Cairo where we among other things visited The Hanging Church and St. Sargius Curch (with the crypt of the holy Jesus-family). Next was a visit to the Egyptian Museum, where Hannah guided us through the museum. She had earlier worked at the museum, and she knew all about everything. Among many things we saw the mask of Tutankhamun. We also chose to go inside a room where we saw several mummies. This coasted 100 Egyptian dollars each person, but it was worth it.

At the evening, we went with our guide to Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of the most famous and oldest bazaars in the Middle East. It was rather fussy, but an experience we wouldn’t miss. We shopped a little and ate at a local restaurant at the end. We where then transported back to the airport, where we took a flight back. We were picked up at the airport in Hurghada and transferred back to our hotel. After a day with many impressions, we went very tired to sleep.

The service we received was very professional and friendly all the way. We were incredibly satisfied with the Egyptology guide Hannah. She was extremely qualified, pleasant and service minded. The whole tour was much better than we had ever imagined, and it probably couldn’t have been much better than it was.

This is a trip that is more expensive than many of the other choices, but it was definitely worth it. We had a private driver and a guide who followed us all day long and we were driven to the places we wanted to go. If you think twice, the price was very reasonable compared to all the things we did and experienced.
This is a tour we absolutely would recommend to others who wants to experience Cairo in one day.

Booked Memphis Tours for a private day excursion from El Gouna to Cairo, from the minute that we were picked up from out hotel the customer service we received was second to none, we were met in Cairo by our tour organiser and taken to the pyramids where we got an egyptologist to take us around the 3 pyramids and the sphynx, he didnt just tell us the history but also local tales about the pyramids, he also made sure the many sellers didnt hassle us too much and learnt us the arabic words for no thankyou! Lunch was provided at the Hard Rock cafe on the nile before we were taken to the Egyptian Museum fot a tour. In the evening we were transfered to the centre of Cairo where we went on a walking tour taken throught the souk and also to see many sights which many tourists dont get to see. The whole day was well organised everybody was very friendly and there was also no pressure to do anything that we didnt want to, our satisfaction came first and foremost. Memphis Tours the best tour company in Egypt!!!
