Itinerary

Day1: Ha Noi Capital – First Arrival 

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Ha Noi, you will be welcomed by our guide and transferred to your hotel in the city to check-in. Relax after your flight.

Day 2: Ha Noi - Orientation (B)

This entire day is devoted to visiting Hanoi’s most famous landmarks: the impressive Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Uncle Ho’s final resting place, his simple stilt house to gain insight into his pure and noble way of life, and the One Pillar Pagoda, which was built in 1049 out of wood on top of a stone pillar and resembles a lotus blossom.
Retrace the city’s history by visiting a nearby historical lake with a B-52 relic and listening to an untold story at a witness’s home to learn how the locals recovered from the war.
Visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, which is built in 11th-century Vietnamese architecture.
Hanoi's lively, hectic, and social atmosphere can be experienced on cyclo (rickshaw) rides through the Old Quarter’s streets of 36 wares, Discovering the legend of Vietnamese coffee culture; Egg Coffee; is one of the highlights of the day. Chat with a legendary egg coffee artist at his hidden café to learn about coffee culture and make your cup, then sample a typical Hanoian flavor.

Late this afternoon depart from your hotel to see “My Village Show” - a combination of arts highlighting the peaceful country life and poetic scenery of Vietnam which is presented under a new cirque approach with enchanting folk melodies. Bamboo pipes and baskets are used throughout the performance. This 60-minute show will amaze and entertain you as it offers you a great step inside the peaceful and charming villages of Vietnam.

To discover the culture and lifestyle of a destination, there is nothing more interesting than visiting a local family. Instead of having dinner in a fancy restaurant with perfect service, spend your relaxing time at a local family in downtown Ha Noi to get an overview of the way of living of a real Hanoian and to sample a traditional home-style meal which is important in Vietnamese culture. The hosts are certainly more than happy to share with you their life stories to make your experience unique and memorable.

Day 3: Ha Noi – Tam Coc – Ha Noi (B, L)

Enjoy a two-hour trip this morning from central Ha Noi to Ninh Binh, a place of spectacular karst mountains, eerie caves, and ancient artifacts, which was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2014. Your first stop is Ninh Binh's most famous place - the country’s historic capital, Hoa Lu to learn more about Vietnam’s first three centralized feudal states—the Dinh, Le, and Ly Dynasties. Visit Bich Dong which was conferred by a King as “Vietnam’s second most beautiful grotto”. Known as “Ha Long Bay on Land”, Tam Coc (“three caves” in Vietnamese meaning) was formed by the river of Ngo Dong flowing through a mountain.

This afternoon, a local skilled rower will take you on a magnificent waterway lined with rice paddies. Enjoy the spectacular view of the karst formation as you explore these caves amid towering mountains. Disembark the boat and follow a village trail to reach the Thai Vi temple. Enjoy the beautiful rural landscape as you pass by
the endless rice fields and mysterious grotto with a sacred shrine inside.

• March-April is the beginning of the rice farming season in Ninh Binh. The fields are greenest here around April and early May, turning golden in late May and early June when the harvest starts.
• Walking distance from disembarkation point to Thai Vi temple: 200meters, on the flat road
• You can choose to enjoy a leisure cycling trip around the Tam Coc-Bich Dong area (7km, easy terrain flat road). The bike is available for hire on the spot with an approximate extra cost of US$ 3 per bike
• You need to walk up 150-250 steps to explore Bich Dong grotto and pagoda

Day 4: Ha Noi – Ha Long Bay – Ha Noi (B, L)

We will have a 2.5-hour picturesque trip from Ha Noi to Ha Long is filled with breathtaking beauty as you travel through seemingly endless green paddy fields and luscious fruit orchards. Upon arrival, join the boat for a 4-hour trip around Ha Long Bay’s beautiful limestone karsts to visit Thumb Island, Cock Fighting Island, and Incense Island, all of which may be seen on Vietnam's 200,000 dong
banknote. Explore Thien Cung-Dau Go cave, the bay’s largest cave with exquisite stalactites and stalagmites. While floating back to the dock, have a seafood lunch on board. Disembark and return to Hanoi City.

Day 5: Ha Noi – Departure (B)- Arrive to Bangkok 

Transfer to Noi Bai International Airport for departure flight.
Upon arrival at Bangkok International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by our guide and transferred to your hotel in the city center for check-in. You will be free for the rest of the day.

Day 6: Bangkok - Railway Market and Damnoen Saduak & City Tour (B/L)

Start your journey to the Rom Hub Railway Market (Folding Umbrella market) by boarding a train at Mae Klong Station. Located on a train track, Rom Hub Market is unlike any other market in the world. Fresh produce, fruits, and other farm goods are sold here on an active railroad track by the locals. As soon as they hear the train coming, the vendors will hurriedly cover their umbrellas and take down their stands.
The next visit will be one of the most visited and photographed places in Thailand; the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. An exhilarating and scenic ride on a longtail speedboat will take us past riverside villages and fruit plantations, before entering the vibrant market. There are many photo opportunities along the way and at the colorful market. Vendors sell tropical fruits, exotic vegetables, and aromatic snacks from small wooden sampans on the water, while stalls on the dockside are laden with local handicrafts, wood carvings, assorted silks, and other trinkets. It’s a great place to buy souvenirs and get an insight into Thailand’s rural culture.
This afternoon, check out two of Bangkok’s most significant landmarks today: Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. Wat Pho, or the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, is home to a 46-meter-long gold-leafed lying Buddha. The glittering Grand Palace, a perfect example of an ancient Siamese court, can be found on the banks of the Chao Phraya River and is a must-see; for any visitor to Bangkok. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha can be found inside the grounds (Wat Phra Kaew).

• Opening times: The Grand Palace is open daily from 08:30 to 15:30, except when there are special royal ceremonies or when it is used for state functions. Wat Pho is open daily from 08:00 to 18:30
• For religious reasons, women should wear short-sleeved tops with full-length trousers or knee-length skirts and men should wear trousers and short-sleeved shirts. No shorts or flip-flops are allowed.

Day 7: Bangkok - Chiang Mai by air (B)

Today, you’ll be transferred from the hotel to the airport for the departure flight to Chiang Mai. On arrival at Chiang Mai International Airport, your guide and driver will be waiting to bring you to your city center hotel.
Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep is a sacred temple in Thailand with a difficult flight of steps guarded by Naga Serpents. The beautiful Lai Kam chapel of Wat Phra Singh, which holds the venerated Phra Singh Buddha image, and the site of the enormous pagoda that was tragically destroyed in the great earthquake of 1545 make Wat Chedi Luang.

Day 8: Chiang Mai (B)

We’ll depart Chiang Mai at 7:00 AM and travel north to Elephant Eco Valley, passing through rural villages, forests, and farms along the way. The Elephant Culture Museum is Thailand's lone museum dedicated to investigating the culture of elephants. Explore the garden's natural surroundings, read up on natural treatments, and whip up some vitamin and herb-filled balls for the elephants. Vitamin balls need to be fed. Give the elephants some bananas or sugar cane.
(And they adore us!) Elephant poop paper needs your assistance. You can take a shower while looking out over a mountain stream. If you don’t want to keep an eye on them or wash them yourself, please do so.
It’s time to head back to the hotel, where the rest of the afternoon is yours to spend as you like.

Optional: Phi Phi Island Discovery (Join-In Tour) 125$ per person
Depart by speedboat from Boat Lagoon Marina to see the stunning Phi Phi Islands, one of Thailand's most popular natural attractions. To avoid the throng, go first to Bamboo Island, which has a pure white sand beach with emerald waters that are ideal for swimming. Next, go snorkeling off Yoong Island, which is known for its antler corals and colorful fish. On arriving to Koh Phi Phi Don, enjoy a basic local buffet lunch before swimming at Viking Cave on the island's northeastern
tip, which is famous for its swifts' nests used in Bird's Nest Soup. Cruise back to Phuket and transfer to your hotel.
