Well taken care of
Westis , 4/17/13

We had a wonderful experience with a honeymoon in Egypt. We didn't particularly organise a honeymoon trip, but the trip with Memphis Tours certainly made it very enjoyable. Mohamed Sakr organised a trip according to our requirements. And of the guides we were particularly happy with Ahmed Farahat, who gave us a private tour of the pyramids and nearby attractions in Giza.

We are not the kind of people who prefer group tours with a lot of talking, but still it was a good balance and we felt very well taken care of. And by our standards it was luxurious living, and especially on the Nile cruise (M/S Mövenpick Royal Lily) the food was simply outstanding!

The only drawback was the trip from Luxor to Hurghada, where we didn't get any lunch at all (and there's nothing to eat in the desert except for some very expensive small snacks some three hours after leaving Luxor), even though we would have had time to eat before leaving Luxor.

Thanks for showing me Egypt - Loved Mena House
Marius, 4/9/13
I had the great chance to meet the very enthusiastic Memphis Tours Egypt representative Tarek Magdy. Tarek told me he is one of the novice in the team and has made it his goal to be a veteran asap. I think he will succeed. Tarek arranged for transfer from and back Cairo airport and during my stay at Mena House he was the one that facilitated all my needs and if possible tried to over exceed them.

Tour guide Ahmad Faraha is a knowledgeable person and always tries to serve the customer needs. He is very eager to learn you more about the old Egyptian culture by embracing the power of repetition philosophy.

Mena House Resort
The Mena House Resort is one of the best resorts I have seen till today. It service brings out a smile on my face. You can almost touch the pyramids from your room. It service brings out a smile on my face. The resort management have succeeded in creating a resort that combines quality and pleasure. The resort service is excellent. Rooms are very good, spacious and well furbished. In the resort I've used the gym and swimming pool. The gym is equipped with the latest Techno Gym machines, the pool offers you a well deserved space to rest after a day of exploring Egypt.

One little downside are the Internet facilities. Only paid cabled internet in the rooms, no wifi. In the lobby of the resort the wifi was also paid.

“Cairo for Our Honeymoon”
an_unweary_travel, 1/30/13
My husband and I were lucky enough to spend 3 days of our honeymoon in Egypt and booked a few tours with Memphis to help us make the most of our time. We booked two days, one exploring the Giza Pyramids and one taking in the historical sites of Cairo.

Our guide Medhat was fantastic. He truly did everything in his power to make us feel welcome and safe. It was obvious that he loves his job and is passionate about Egyptian history and culture. Due to the second anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution, our tours had to be rearranged at the last minute, but Medhat made sure that we were able to see everything we had planned on seeing and do the activities we wanted to do as well. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and an all-around great guy--he even made extra efforts to engage my not-so-historically-inclined husband's interests.

In spite of the political situation right now, we never once felt threatened or in danger during our trip. I truly hope that more people can look past the media reports and consider traveling to Egypt again.

One point about my booking experience: Although I found my Memphis representative to be helpful and prompt, I felt that she was somewhat unorganized. There were a few errors in initial booking confirmations that then had to be resent a few times. We were also contacted the day before our first tour and told that our tour dates needed to be switched. I said that, due to other bookings, that wasn't possible and was told that it was okay to keep the original tour dates. The next day Medhat gave us the revised itinerary--he hadn't been told that we were going to keep the original schedule. We ended up modifying it after he explained that the changes were because of the threat of protests near Tahrir Square the next day. Had I been told that the day before I would have naturally changed the tour dates. But since no explanation was given I resisted, and it led to (avoidable) confusion later on. The tour representative was also vague about tour start times (despite repeated questions about it) which led to us booking a later start time than was optimal. Although these were just minor issues, I did feel that a bit more organization on the tour representative's part would have made things a little smoother for us.

Overall I was satisfied with Memphis Tours and would consider using them again, as well as recommending them to other Egypt-bound travelers, although I guess which guide you get is the luck of the draw. Personally I would definitely tour with Medhat again, and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone and everyone else.

If you are going to Egypt, Memphis Tours is the company to work with
NathalieA123, 3/26/12
From start to finish they were very professional and attentive to any questions, concerns and requests. My mother and I visited Egypt in January 2011.Our tour Consultant Mustafa Ahmed was super nice and always available to answer questions regarding out trip...Our greeter in Cairo, Hassan Musleh, was knowledgable and gracious..Our greeter in Aswan, Abu Grisha was extremely helpful and resourceful..
To be honest, Egypt is one of the safest countries I have ever travelled in..I never felt scared or nervous at any point and Memphis Tours was always there to make the travel transitions go smoothly.
I work in production and I can honestly say that Memphis tours insured our very special trip went without a hitch...I will visit Egypt again. There was way too much to much to see and just not enough time in this very rich and interesting country...

Excellent all the way
VIYATIN, 1/31/12
To start with the prepreparation where there was this amazing lady called eman rashad who helped us plan our trip. She accommodated so many changes and assured that we would have the best honeymoon and she was right.
memphis tours was a gamble we took on the basis of all the reviews and we were not disappointed at all.It was truly very well organised and superbly coordinated.
Our guide in Cairo emad salem was a encyclopaedia of knowledge and we could only abosrb and wonder at his enthusiasm and hospitality.
We were picked up at the airport and dropped to the airport and in between the 12 days we did not have to worry a bit.
Our guide from luxor to aswan was eid mohammed. because of the slack in tourists due to revolution, the cruise that we were booked in did not have too many guests and voila eid comes all dressed up and makes sure he kept us entertained all throughout the 3 days.
Overall i feel it was the best decision that we took and thank you all at memphis for beautiful memories and a lovely holiday

Getting ready to go
ann_paddy, 1/27/12
My wife and I haven't visited Egypt before and were a little unsure of what to see and do. Maged Al Gohary of Memphis Tours has been our link with his company and has been an absolute jet in communicating with us over the past two weeks. If the trip goes as smoothly as the early contacts have, it'll be a breeze!

Memphis helped us have a memorable honeymoon
manpu, 9/1/11
As part of our honeymoon we decided to spend some time in Egypt, so we search the web for a tour company. We found that Memphis Tours was the best for they offered a personalised tour, we could change anything we wanted. Ahmed Shalpy was great in answering the emails quickly and was very professional.

When we arrived we were met by Memphis representative Ahmed El Sayed. Ahmed was great, professional, friendly and catered for all our needs. We spent 12 days in Egypt and met various tour guides, all of who were professional, knew all the history and were passionate about their jobs, even the driver was very friendly and stopped the car several times so that we could take some photos. Throughout the trip we were never left alone, even when we had to take the sleeping train, Ahmed stayed with us until we were in our cabin. We felt safe at all times. We enjoyed our honeymoon so much, Egypt has so much to offer. We went to the pyramids, saw numerous temples in Aswan, Luxor, Edfu, took the Nile Cruise, rode camels, visited the Valley of the Kings, perfume factory, papyrus factory and a carpet school, At the end of our holiday we also spent some days in Hurghada, and swam in the Red Sea. Memphis Tours catered for all our needs and everyone was so friendly and amasing. I would recommend Memphis tours to anyone who want to spend some magical days in the land of the Pharaohs!!

Great Tour Company, trip of a life time!
Gant710688, 2/1/11
Ok, when booking with this company you HAVE to have Mr. Ahmed Farahat as your tour guide. He speaks Arabic, English and Italian. He was the best tour guide we have ever had. We had him the first day in Cario and he was so great, we changed our trip around when we arrived back in Cario to have him again. First class guy!
The tour company was great. Very professional, reliable and polite. Its a great deal as well! We where treated like gold.
I know there is a lot of political issues going on over there right now but once that clears up and things get better, check this amazing country out with Memphis Tours. Its so worth it!

“Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
sarahltb, 10/15/10
There are not enough praise to thank our guide and driver from Memphis tours. Our guide Nesreen and our driver Kahmel made our our perfect from start to finish.

Nesreen was a wealth of knowledge on all things Egypt. But most importantly she went out of our way to make our tour personal and unforgettable. This included pits stops for fresh dates, sugar cane juice, and a papyrus as an wedding present.

Our driver Kahmel was amazing behind the wheel and during the 2.5 hour drive from Alexandria port to Cairo we felt completely safe. Which is not always easy to achieve in Egypt.

The restaurant that we were taken to for a local meal was fantastic. The food was delicious and Nesreen was kind enough to teach me how to make one of the dishes.

The personal touches that Memphis provides truly make them stand out from other tour companies in Egypt. One example that stands out especially was after emailing Memphis to inquiry about tour price and availability. I received a phone call from the tour manager who had answered my email to follow up and see if he could assist in any other way. There are few tour companies who will call long distance just to check.

I would highly recommend Memphis to anyone looking to have a fantastic time while in Egypt.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at Memphis for making Egypt an unforgettable stop on our honeymoon.

“Fun in Egypt”
ChevyCamaro1082, 6/6/10
My wife and I just got married and went to egypt for our honeymoon. It was very fun and we used Memphis to book our travel. While I hear that March and October are much better months to come to Egypt, we came in June. It is very hot here in June but Memphis tours made sure we had air conditioned vehicles during the trip. We had a great guide Dr. Salem the guide for most of our trip and it was great. He is very friendly and we even had a chance to go to his home. It was a fun trip.
