Wonderful tour guide and driver! We got to hit all the highlights during our very short time in Cairo. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about what he shared, and it made the experience very memorable and enjoyable.

Highly recommend!
Olivia N, 10/29/22

Highly recommend this tour!

Kadria was an amazing guide that was so warm and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to explore Cairo.

We had a driver pick us up at our hotel then we meet up with Kadria (our guide). She was bubbly and friendly and we set out to enjoy Cairo. We explored the pyramids. She not only had a wealth of knowledge of what we were exploring, she also knew how to get some great photos!

She recommended not going inside the pyramids but we did the camel walk. The camel walk is a bit tough as the guides were aggressive and the treatment of the camels was hard to watch. If I were to do it again, I would skip the camel ride. They recommend the camel ride because of good photos but I don’t think it would be worth it. If you do the camel rides, the guides were a bit pushy and aggressive with tips.

Then we stopped at a papyrus store to look at how papyrus was made with the option of buying at the end.

Finally you check out the museum which is great to have a guide here as well. Help you look at all that is available and provide great context for the history.

Great tour overall!

“Great Experience with Memphis”
arnold z , 12/11/13
We have booked to tour with Memphis for 18 days in Egypt in January 2014, with a complex itinerary (lots of transfers and different segments) and Memphis have been fantastic so far. Actually our consultant Eman Rashad has been outstanding. Eman has been very patient with us making changes and always gets back to us within the day. Eman has also gone beyond what is expected, providing good advice on accommodation and other attractions. If you are having doubts about booking through Memphis, forget them, they have been great. Hopefully you get lucky and get Eman as well. We look forward to our adventure in Egypt and I will write another review when we are done

“Cairo and Giza”
Christopher B , 12/7/13
We recently returned from our first trip to Egpyt. We booked all of our tours through Memphis and could not be happier with their service.
On our first morning in Cairo we were greeted in our hotel lobby (Novotel El Borg) by Tarek.
We were briefed on our itinerary for the day and driven to the entrance of the Egyptian Museum where we were to meet up with our guide.
On the way to the museum, which overlooks Tahrir Square, we passed by a few road blocks and tanks but were reminded that they were only there to protect in case of protesting or rioting.
At no point did I feel unsafe or that things might get out of hand.
We arrived at the Egyptian Museum for a walk through and history lesson with our outstanding tour guide, Karam.
His depth of knowledge was impressive and I don't think our visit to the museum would have been as satisfying without his guidance.
After the museum we were picked up by the driver in a Memphis Tours van and taken out to Giza for our walking tour of the Pyramids.
Along the way we stopped at a few shops in Giza for some shopping.
Once we arrived at the base of the pyramids we were given another briefing from Karam followed by a little unguided exploring and photo taking.
Karam took us to all the best vantage points to satiate our photography needs and took group photos at each stop.
After the pyramids we stopped at the great sphinx for another history lesson and walk around before heading back into Giza for dinner.
Dinner was out doors at a big cozy restaurant and everything was delicious.
After dinner we were escorted back to our hotel.

The next day we did a bit of relaxing at our hotel in Cairo as we had been traveling prior to our arrival in Egypt and needed some down time.
That night however, we again met up with Tarek as he took us to our Nile River dinner cruise.
The cruise was just right and everything including the food, was excellent.
The main dining room we were seated in for dinner was also seating a wedding party, which was fun to watch.
After the boat docked Tarek was back to escort us back to our hotel again--always very prompt. Never any waiting around.

I would highly recommend Memphis Tours for anyone who wants to visit Egypt but isn't sure about getting around or dealing with excursions.
Everyone we dealt with was professional and kind and we felt safe and well taken care of.

We only got to experience a couple of their offerings but are considering going back and will definitely book through Memphis.

Amazing Experince in Cairo 5 days 4 Nights Visit
VIDYA, 7/23/13
My Husband and I chose Egypt for our honeymoon and we did this through Memphis Tours. We were nervous about the situation in Cairo as we went right during the revolution but all our fears went away. We had the most amazing time in our life! We had the best tour guide and his name is Medhat Mahmoud! He was excellent in everything. He kept us safe and fear free during our whole stay in Cairo. He provided us with all the facts and information on all the historical sites, excellent English communication skills, and lastly very friendly. We couldn't have asked for a better tour guide/friend to enjoy our trip with. If anyone is going to Egypt I highly recommend Medhat! Special thanks to our Memphis Tour driver Osama for making all our road journeys so enjoyable, we laughed all the time with him very friendly person. If I go back to Egypt one day We will choose memphis tours without a doubt and especially Medhat as our guide.

Been to many places all over the World, but Egypt was by far the BEST time ever
mentirosa, 8/28/11
I booked my tour with Memphis Tours and it was by far the best thing to do. We only had 4 days is Egypt, so I didn't want to deal w/ the headache of planning everything. Memphis tours did everything.
As we arrived to Egypt we were greeted by a nice young man Ahmed Osman. He went out of his way to make sure our experience was great. He had our itinerary ready and was ready to explain everything to us. Very professional yet very personable.
Ahmed, thank you for everything during this trip we had a great time. We will definetly be using memphis to book our next trip to Jordan. You were a great tour guide and wish we could have you be our tour guide in Jordan. Thanks again

“The Time of My Life”
MarquiaJohnson, 7/3/10
I was studying abroad in Malta, and a group of us wanted to go to Egypt for a weekend. We booked the Cairo Budget Tour. It included trips to the pyramids, hotel stay, transportation, a tour leader, driver, tour guide, trips to the museums, camel ride, dinner cruise on the Nile River, and much more. It was the absolutely perfect weekend for us. We were greeted at the airport by Mohammed Omran Mimmo, our tour leader. He was the best tour leader that anyone could have asked for. He ensured that we got to our hotel safely. If we need to go to the store for anything, he made it happen. Any detours that we threw his way; he accepted the challenge and made it happen. He definitely made our trip worthwhile. Our tour guide was Mohamad Raafat Marghany. This man was awesome. The wealth of knowledge that he gave us was priceless. He answered every question we asked with poise and confidence. I told him that I was going to bring my entire family back to Egypt just to hear him explain the history of this ancient place. Eman was our driver. He drove us everywhere we wanted to go from the time we got there until the time we left. I wish I could have stayed in Egypt longer. I also know that I have gained some true friends from this short-lived adventure.

“Rave Reviews for our Guide”
MichikoG, 3/28/10
When I was looking online for tour packages (for my friend and I...we are 2 women) my first concern was safety and security and having a chance to get the full essence of what the world sees when one thinks of Egypt...in 5 days!

So Memphis tours made it easy (trips were well laid out, nothing was left in the air) and safe (we paid by visa...no probs and never felt physically unsafe) and we feltl like we totally got the Egypt experience...with a -little- help from our guide. Yeah, we saw the pyramids, the citadel, old Cairo and Alexdandria...but it was our guide that made it out to be a unique and fun experience. To use the cliche...unforgettable.

Yeah, he was smart, informative, friendly and hospitable...the usual adjectives. What really struck us was the vitality and enthusiasm that our guide possessed. He was genuinely thrilled to introduce us his home...Egypt; and it made our experience unforgettable.

“Memphis Tours - Egypt - Yes you should use them”
seattletolondon, 3/25/10
“Memphis Tours - Egypt - Yes you should use them”

We booked a 5 day trip to Cairo using Memphis tours. First of all, when we sent them an initial email inquiry, they responded straightaway. We were impressed with the prompt response and attentiveness to our questions.

They sent us a full itinerary quickly with a quote for cost. We were able to make changes and additions to which they re-adjusted the itinerary straightaway.

When we landed in Cairo after collecting our luggage our host, Hussein, was waiting for us just outside the exit doors. He introduced himself and accompanied us to our hotel. He explained how the next few days would go and was very good at answering questions about what we were seeing along the way. His English was excellent and he was very professional. The hotel we chose was the Movenpick hotel in Giza. I would classify this as a 3+ hotel. Very clean, lovely and helpful staff, and nicely maintained property. The rooms are clean, though a bit tired in spots (could use a lick of paint here and there).

There were 3 restaurant choices at the hotel. The Thai restaurant at the hotel is probably the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Very fresh and flavourful.

Our Egyptologist Mahdy, was attentive and informative. He wanted to ensure that we truly understood the history behind what we were seeing. We would ‘go to class’ before we entered a site. He’d sit us down and explain what we were going to see, tell us a story and then we’d go to the site. It really helped to hear everything ahead of time, so that when we were inside the pyramids or at a mosque, we’d be able to recall what we talked about ‘in class’. Was a great learning experience. Thanks Mahdy.

We decided to go on an evening Nile cruise (very touristy, wouldn’t recommend this) and we were met at the hotel by another Memphis Tours host who accompanied us to the boat with the driver, then secured us a nice table. He was waiting for us to escort us back to the hotel with the driver when we finished the cruise. We were very impressed by this level of customer service and found this to be something that Memphis Tours does regularly. A very nice touch.

Riding in a car/taxi/van in Cairo is an experience to say the least. The lines on the highways are truly just guidelines. I felt very safe the entire time I was in the Memphis Tours Van. Our driver , Sayed, was excellent.

Overall I highly recommend Memphis Tours. Their customer service and professional approach is excellent.
