Itinerary

Enjoy your Trip to Abu Simbel. Memphis Tours representative will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan by a modern air-conditioned coach to enjoy a small group tour to Abu Simbel. It is about 03 hours and a half, a one-way drive from Aswan to Abu Simbel. The two Temples of Abu Simbel, with their unique style, are considered to be the masterpieces of ancient Egypt. They reflect the glory and grandeur of the new Kingdom. The Egyptian government and UNESCO decided to cooperate in order to save these temples from the flood. The Temple of Ramsses II was dedicated to the four universal gods Ptah, Re-Her-Akhtey, Amun-Re, and to Ramsses II himself. The great Abu Simbel temple is also called The Sun Temple of Ramesses II. The Temple of Queen Nefertari is also called the Temple of Hathor who was the wife of the Sun God so in a symbolic way, the two Temples, that of Ramsses II, and that of Nefertari, bring Ramesses II, Nefertari, Hathor, and the Sun God together as one. Later on, you will be escorted back from Abu Simbel to your hotel in Aswan.

The tour includes lunch at a local restaurant.

“Memphis is reliable, flexible and professional in the arrangement of my Abu Simbel tour”
mikechan, 1/11/14
I've prebooked my Abu Simbel tour well in advance. Memphis is flexible to allow a deposit downpayment as my date is a moving target (due to cruise ship sailing schedule). I've made several changes to the date and I'm thankful to Fatima for her patience and professionalism. The local guide (Badawi Ahmed) in Aswan was equally helpful in answering all my phone call and enquiries. It was a wonderful experience in Abu Simbel and enjoyed utmost the comfortable to/return 6 hours journey - thanks to the driver (drove safely) and chatty guide (chat about the revolution...) . In addition, I have convinced 3 more ship-mate to join my group of 7. Thumbs up to Memphis and would directly recommend others. Cheers...Mike Chan (Singapore

“Excellent tour company
Van, 10/14/13

We went on a tour from Cairo to Abu Simbel and then on a Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Memphis tours. They organized our flights from Cairo and the cruise. The guide was excellent.

We felt very safe on the tour. Egypt is a bit crazy right now, but the tours are a great deal since very few tourists are going there. The river cruise ship we went on was the Alyssa. It was very comfortable and had very good food.

Three generation family tour
madtana, 7/9/13
We took the 3 hour drive to Abu Simbel with our guide, Fridayo., who filled us with so much information one of the most beautiful jaw dropping sites ever. I felt like I walked into an Indiana Jones movie. On the way home we stopped in the middle of the desert and Friday took a picture of us with the sun setting behind us. Was worth the long drive.

Maged Al Gohary of Memphis Tours Has Been the Best!
Dave, 9/5/11
I have been using Maged Al Gohary of Memphis Tours as my tour consultant for an upcoming trip to Egypt. He has been quick to answer my emails and provide me with information and price quotes. He even got us booked on a flight out of Abu Simbel that I could not book through other travel websites. I hope this trip goes as smoothly as booking parts of it through Memphis Tours has gone. Based on my experience to date, I recommend Memphis Tours in general and Maged in particular. His email address is [email protected].

Really good service.
robj93, 3/20/11
I’d like to say a big thank you to the staff of Memphis Tours for making our recent holiday so successful. We had a "Nile Cruise" on (eventually) The MS Royal Viking - which about 2/3 full. Our guide Ahmed was most knowledgeable and helpful throughout. The sites (Valley of the Kings etc) were almost empty of tourists and all the people we met were delighted to see some tourists again. Although we organised our own travel to a nfrom the boat, the Memphes team at Luxor was most helpful and their manager in Aswan went out of his way to make our trip to Abu Simbel a great success.

6 hour drive through the desert -- safe and comfortable
Colorado_Traveler_98, 2/21/11
My friends and I (a total of 3 females) decided to visit Abu Simbel from Aswan. The round-trip drive is 6 hours through the desert. They picked us up on time from our hotel, provided a driver, and provided a female Egyptologist. Their choice of pairing a female Egyptologist with a female group was very thoughtful because we felt more comfortable. Memphis Tours also made us feel better by allowing 2 military personnel in our van with us, which made us feel less worried (after 8 Americans had died earlier in the week in a car accident). Abu Simbel was definitely worth the drive, and Memphis Tours made the trip there and back safe and comfortable.

“Wonderful service _ Petra and Abu Symbel”
Paulo_R_Barros, 1/14/11
I booked two different tours with memphis tour and all went OK. We visited Petra and Abu Symbel and all the guides and managers were very friendly and helpfull. The minor surprises are always because of Egyptian burocracy and the people from memphis were always there or at the phone to help us to solve it. The schedule was perfect and I enjoyed a lot the tours.
