Day 1: Arrival to AlUla

Welcome to AlUla, the most interesting place in Saudi Arabia. Our Memphis Tours team will greet you and ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel. Take some time to settle in and relax. Your Riyadh adventure awaits!

Day 2: AlUla Tour

Breakfast at the hotel, take the opportunity to explore the awe-inspiring wonders of Madain Saleh, which has been recognized as a World Heritage site. This ancient city was once known as "Al Hegra" and served as an important stop along a highly lucrative trade route during ancient times. Madain Saleh is spread across an expansive area of 2000 square meters and is filled with numerous remnants and tombs that have been carved into rocks. As you explore,

Don't miss iconic sites like:

Qasr Al-Farid ("The Lonely Castle")
One of Hegra’s most iconic and largest tombs, Qasr Al-Farid stands alone in the desert, showcasing a majestic but unfinished facade.
Your guide will explain the unique Nabataean burial traditions, and how these tombs were carved directly into the sandstone cliffs.
This stop offers fantastic photo opportunities, especially in the early morning or at sunset.

Jabal Al-Ahmar (The Red Mountain)
Known for its reddish sandstone formations, Jabal Al-Ahmar contains over 18 tombs, some with remarkably well-preserved inscriptions and intricate carvings.
These tombs belonged to high-ranking Nabataean families, giving insight into their hierarchical society and funerary practices.

Jabal Al-Banat (Mountain of the Daughters)
This unique collection of over 30 tombs is believed to have been owned by elite Nabataean women, highlighting the role of women in their society.
The tomb facades are beautifully decorated with Nabataean symbols and Thamudic inscriptions that tell stories of the past.

Diwan & Jabal Ithlib – The Nabataean Meeting Place
Jabal Ithlib, a sacred mountain, was a site for religious rituals and gatherings.
The Diwan, a rock-cut hall, served as a political and spiritual meeting place where Nabataean leaders and merchants discussed trade, governance, and religious ceremonies.
A short walk from the Diwan leads to a narrow passageway resembling Petra’s Siq, which was an important ceremonial route.

During your tour of Madain Saleh, take some time to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants. If time allows, consider making your way toward Harrat Uairedh. Located at one of the highest points in town; this place offers breathtaking panoramic views of its surrounding landscapes. Afterward returning from Harrat Uairedh's scenic viewpoint excursion back to AlUla where you will spend two nights at your hotel for restful overnight accommodations.

Day 3: Al Ula Tours

After breakfast, embark on an adventure to discover the marvels of the World Heritage sites of Dadan and Jabal Ikmah. Jabal Ikmah, often likened to an expansive open-air library, boasts the highest concentration and most diverse collection of inscriptions found in AlUla. Meanwhile, Dadan served as the capital for both the Dadan and Lihyan kingdoms. This city constructed from stone holds a rich history that spans from the 9th century BCE to the 8th century BCE.

Admire over ten tombs meticulously carved into crimson-red cliffs, with one particularly renowned burial ground known as 'Lion Tombs'. These impressive lion sculptures signify resting places for esteemed members of society. After immersing yourself in mountainous wonders, journey to Old Town where you can delve into Al-Ula's captivating history while leisurely strolling through its lush oasis and local farms.

Once rejuvenated by this heartfelt encounter, continue your adventure toward the iconic 'Elephant Rock', an awe-inspiring natural formation that truly captures the imagination. Return to your hotel.
