It was an amazing trip to Egypt. Our tour manager paid attention to every detail to make us completely satisfied. From the time he picked us up at the Cairo airport until the end of the trip.
We can’t say enough about our wonderful 5-day visit to Cairo/Luxor with Memphis Tours.
We really loved out time in Egypt. Highly recommend visiting this country!!
We booked Memphis Tours for an 5 day trip in Egypt. We absolutely loved our tour.
The tour itself was amazing. Well Organized. But we faced a bit of issue on our pyramids tour. The road was a bit crowded so we lost a bit of time.
Thank you also to Fatima my 1st contact - your help was invaluable.
We were visiting my son in Cairo and had a very short time in Egypt. Memphis tours arranged a one day tour of Luxor for us and it was wonderful from beginning to end. We left Cairo at 5:30 am and returned very late the same day. They made all the arrangements from pick-up at our hotel to flights to tour guides and everything went smoothly and as planned. Our tour guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. It was a long day but one of the highlights of our entire trip.
My guide in Cairo, Rehab was wonderful. She was an Egyptologist and provided great information to help me appreciate the sites we visited (pyramids, Egyptian Museum, downtown, Old Cairo). Most importantly, she helped make the day as stress free as possible, and adjusted our tour to make sure we didn't get stuck in heavy traffic areas. Be sure to ask for Rehab, you won't regret it!
In Luxor, my guide, Shaimaa Baheeg was absolutely wonderful. She was also very professional and personable. Luxor is a great addition to your trip because the town is a lot smaller and has a "home-town" feel to it. The people are great, and Shaimaa definitely helped me feel like a part of the Luxor family. She even hooked me up with a personalized lunch of my favorite Egyptian foods (koshary, fruit, soobia, sugar cane drinks...the works!). Honestly, ask for Shaimaa when you go to Luxor, she's like the long lost Egyptian cousin that you didn't know you had!
My tour director, Osama was amazing. I honestly felt like I had nothing to worry about at all. He was really fun to talk to as well. I learned a lot about Egyptian society, politics, and lifestyles just from our chats. He's the MAN!
my students when I returned. Sayed is also a fantastic person who makes you feel comfortable on the tours, answers your questions and has a good sense of humor. He went out of his way to buy a few items (in Luxor) for members of our group while we went back to the ship to rest. Sayed also speaks english very well, he has a lot of energy and is enthusiastic about sharing his ancient country with you.
We then proceeded to Luxor. The city of Luxor is clean and beautiful. Adding to that we got a wonderful guide Shaimaa. Being Indians, we found the Egyptian food (included in the package) to be a bit bland. The stay at both the places was great.
Overall, we had a good service provided by Memphis Tours - starting from the Sales agent to the Tour Manager. I would recommend them to anyone travelling to Egypt
Visited January 2013
Hotels very satisfactory - lovely spot on Nile at Luxor to watch the sun go down.
Would definitely go again, great value and recommend highly.
Next stop was Luxor with Memphis Tours' guide Mohamed Emam, amazing Egyptologist, can't believe how much he taught us in such a short time, we can't praise him enough, we felt very privileged to have him as our guide, again, thank you Mohamed.
Last but certainly not least was our Aswan guide, El Hassan El Shazly, by the time we reached Aswan we had seen and discovered a lot about Egypt but this did not put Hassan off one bit. He showed us Aswan in such a fun way, he is an absolute character who had us laughing most of the time, lovely young man and beautiful city.
We don't believe our trip would have been anywhere near as wonderful as it was without the amazing team at Memphis Tours, the only way to see Egypt, with the people that know it best. We have already recommended Memphis Tours to several people as we have complete confidence in them. Anyone thinking of planning a trip to Egypt and are not sure what to do, when to go, whether it's safe etc. contact Memphis Tours you won't regret it, Egypt is amazing, nowhere else like it, we just loved every minute of our trip.
I had a grand time in EGYPT and all thanks to MEmphis Tours!
Within 24 hours after inquiring about itineraries and what-to-dos in Egypt, Memphis Agent Ms. Fattoush Saad promptly answered and had given me the best options for a 5-day tour and even updated me from time to time about our booking.
I encountered a problem with regards to a friend who was not able to get a pre-arrival Visa in which I had to cancel her travel but Ms. Fattoush managed to help me in the refund of the fees even though I had her informed in a week time.
Our Tour Guides were EXCELLENT! Mahmoud from Cairo and Nabil of Luxor made sure that we were comfortable during the tours and they had shared marvelous information in every place we visited. I never appreciated Ancient History when we were in College but they made us felt that EGYPT has got it's marvelous History =)
The tour was nice since there are no other groups with us (we're 5 btw) and checking on other tour groups with their headset on while the guide is telling information seems like a different thing. Hence, there's no pressure in waiting for "others" when you wanted to take a little of time to a certain place (and take pictures of course!).
Mr. Hamada Roshidy who's the representative of Memphis during our arrival and Departure was pretty COOL! He even danced with us for a video we made and treated us for Lunch on our last day =p (how lucky can we get?)

Both of our guides were very well informed, friendly, and answered any questions we had. I was very impressed by them. I would highly recommend Memphis Tours--they are excellent with email communication prior to the trip as well as being excellent guides once there.
This amazing trip was planned by Abdo Shawky , a very efficient travel consultant .He happily answered all our questions and planned an excellent holiday. We were met by Abdelfatah Mohamed the tour manager in Cairo who made us feel very welcome. Our first guide in Cairo Ahmed Abdelhamid was so passionate about his job , his knowledge of history is excellent.
We then embarked on the Nile Cruise , guided by Alaa Elsawy , and visted Aswan and Luxor .
Alaa was fun and full of energy , his tours was very informative ,he became part of the family.
The last part of the trip was to Sharm , guided by Ahmed Gomma , it is beautiful and relaxing in Sharm .Gomma was great .Thank you to all the Memphis guides for the excellent service from day 1 to day 12. Egypt is a safe place for tourists
I just spent a week in Cairo on a business trip. This is not my first time in Egypt but it happened so that it has always been business only with occasional site seeing around Cairo and day trip to Alexandria at the most. I have always wanted to visit Luxor but have been under impression that this is way too much for a day trip and therefore I could never find the right company to undertake a longer trip. This time though as I have inquired in the hotel - me & my two collegues have been offered a day trip including the flights to and from Cairo, all transfers and the full day of site seeing in Luxor. The tour has been organized thru Memphis Tours and has been absolutely perfect with flawless execution and incredible places to see and people to meet.
This was my fifth time in Egypt in the past two years. First trips before revolution and three trips after. Ever since I first set a foot on this land - I was blown away by warmth, sincerity and genuine emotions on Egyptian people. This time in Luxor - the absolute highlight of our tour has been our guide, beautiful Ms Shimaa Baheeg. Everything, from incredible depth of her knowledge and pride that she takes in her country to the most wonderful way that she shares this knowledge, constantly keeping you engaged with her stories, and getting it to the perfect level and intensity of information so that you can actually relate to it and retain it - Shimaa simply can not leave anyone indifferent. It is not very common that you come across such a qualified guide and such a remarkable person - by the end of that day I honestly felt I found a sister. This trip made such an impression on me that I have started planning a trip with my family and if I can arrange Shimaa accompany us around - there is nothing more that one could wish to get a full immersion in this incredible and mystical country. Thank you Sheimaa!

We traveled to Cairo at the end of April 2012. We had a wonderful experience with Memphis Tours, both in Luxor and Giza. Both guides were very knowledgeable and courteous, and we enjoyed our trip very much. Only two comments for improvement: the lunch in Luxor was very limited in options. I know that we are vegetarians, but we were very surprised that even the Egyptian bread was not available. Perhaps another restaurant with more options could be made available (we immensely enjoyed the vegetarian lunch at the outdoor restaurant in Giza). Also, our day trip to Luxor required us to have to pay extra (small amt) for a hotel respite as our flight did not depart for Cairo until 10:30p. While we did not mind because we got to see more in Luxor, it would have been nice to know that the tour actually ends at 4 or 5, so that we could have planned the extra time out better. Ayman was very nice and helped us in planning an activity at the last minute. Otherwise, Memphis was a great experience and we will definitely recommend it to other travelers.

we travelled from Australia a young couple in our early 60s. Memphis was fantastic, couldn't fault them, we emailed them and let them know what we wanted and how long we were able to travel, they did the lot. the guides were a wealth of information. we travelled to luxor to pick up our cruise, were always met at the designated times. they made the tour of Egypt very stress free.
We did lose a bag with Egypt Air between Cairo and Luxor, we were so grateful of Mohamed who stayed with us for the 4 hr at Cairo airport working on our behalf.
however: I would recommend that if you are travelling to Cairo, only take hand luggage
i am still waiting for a reply from Egypt Air and compensation for the lost bag. we are now in our 6th month they don't respond to emails.
I would travel again o Egypt but only take hand luggage and recommend Menphys tours who were very professional at all time and extremely friendly.

Our representative in Cairo was Mohamed Besheer and in Luxor, our representative was Hassan Saidi. All of our emails were with Fatima Sayed.
Fatima was very responsive over email and had endless patience for my myriad of questions. She helped me to build a perfect itinerary, never hesitating when I asked to make a change. Mohamed and Hassan were cheerful, professional, and truly a joy to be around! We very much enjoyed our time with them. They each went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful trip.
In Cairo, our tour guide was Amany Salem, and in Luxor, we were paired with Nabil Ibrahim. Both were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Their styles were quite different. Amany walked through each of the sites with us, while giving us information about the site and its history, while Nabil gave information up front and we walked around the site ourselves. We preferred Amany's style, although this is in no way a knock on Nabil, who was a wonderful guide.
We did have two logistical issues. First, the flight time of our domestic flight from Cairo to Luxor (which was booked by Memphis Tours) was apparently changed by Egypt Air, and we missed our flight. We were lucky to be able to catch the next flight (an hour and a half later), but if we hadn't have been able to do that, the next one was ~7 hours later, so it could have been a big problem. Word to the wise: they won't reconfirm the flights they booked, so do it yourself.
Secondly, on our last day in Luxor, we were picked up at 9am. We were scheduled to take a sleeper train from Luxor to Cairo that left at 10:30. We thought this meant that we had a very full day of touring. Turns out, we were done after lunch! We could have slept in and enjoyed a fabulous morning at the pool at our hotel (the Hilton Luxor - FABULOUS), but instead, we had 8 hours of dead time. During this time, Memphis Tours did book us a day rate (at no cost to us) at a small hotel (the Susanna Hotel), but this definitely didn't make up for what would have been 6 more hours at least at our positively amazing hotel.
But on the positive side of the logistics, during that last day in Luxor, I came down with a bit of travel tummy, and after calling Hassan on the Memphis Tours-provided phone, they arranged flights for us back to Cairo and had it booked within 5 minutes. We were so grateful to have that telephone and for their immediate response!
One thing that I did not like at all was that even though we had a very specific agreed-upon itinerary, they still tried to sneak in things like a) a shop, b) a papyrus factory, c) a carpet factory, and d) an alabaster factory. We skipped the papyrus and carpet factories, but we did let ourselves be taken to the shop and the alabaster factory. The shop had very reasonable prices (it was right across from the Sphinx), but the alabaster factory was a complete rip-off.
Also, in Cairo our last stop was the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar. Amany walked the bazaar with us, and honestly, I wish that she hadn't. She clearly knew several of the shop owners and we were ushered into their shops, and when we visited other shops, she kept telling us that we were "running late" and had to go. So, please don't take your guide with you when you go to the bazaar. We would have spent at least 2 more hours there, meandering through the shops we wanted, vs struggling to visit the shops we would have liked to see.
Overall, I'd probably give Memphis a 3.5 star review - I wish Trip Advisor allowed half-stars. I wouldn't hesitate to book with them, just be aware of all of the issues I relayed, and any the others on the forum have relayed, and be firm with your choices. You will have an AMAZING time in Egypt!
Thanks for planning wonderful visit to Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor for us. You team of professionals were great. In Cairo and Alexandria, Hamad, Ahmed and adel were superb team. Always on time and very knowlegeable. In Luxor, it was a team of Emad, Eman and Ahmed. They were great too. My advice to any one who wants to visit Egypt with complete peace of mind, willbe "Go Memphis"

Everything involving Memphis Tours is helpful, friendly and professional. Our trip to Luxor was arranged through email and the service was fantastic. Bassem was thorough and always quick to respond.
We were picked up very early in the morning from the Luxor train station having just taken the sleeper train from Cairo. Yahia was waiting for us at 5:30 am and our tour began. Our guide's name was Shaima, and she was so knowledgable of all things Luxor. We had two young children with us and she interacted with them lovingly and even bought them snacks. They both told me later how much they liked Shaima!
We were planning on taking the sleeper train back to Cairo the same night (arranged ourselves and not through Memphis Tours) and Shaima really helped us out. She took us to the train station and helped translate for me, explaining that there were no more available seats (again, this was our error and a miscommunication, not any fault of Memphis Tours). Memphis Tours and Shaima went above and beyond the call of duty to help secure us transportation back to Cairo, eventually booking us last minute flight tickets and checking us in at the airport.
I highly recommend using Memphis Tours and if possible, Shaima when you go to Luxor!

Not only does Memphis Tours come highly recommended, but particularly Bassem, who has been absolutely amazing in helping us to book our holiday to Egypt this year. Bassem has not only fulfilled every single requirement we have asked for, but he has done this with the most prompt, friendly and efficient manner, he could not have been more helpful.
This the first holiday my partner and I have ever taken together, and thanks to Bassem and Memphis Tours we are looking forward to the holiday of our dreams to Egypt in February - thank you Bassem!
I booked everything via email with Fatima and received full confirmation and knew exactly what to expect when arriving in Egypt.
We were collected from our hotel by abdul and taken to giza train station for our overnight sleeper train to Luxor.
Abdul waited with us until the train arrived and then took us to our sleeper cabin. He also left us with his telephone number.
On arrival at Luxor the following morning we were met by Ahmed. He introduced us to our guide for the day, Zachariah.
Zachariah accompanied us for the morning to the valley of the kings, queen hatsepshuts temple and the colossi of meme on. All entry tickets to these were included as part of the price, as was the lunch that we then went for. He then took unto Luxor and Karnak temples.
As our return train to Giza was not until 10.30pm, we asked if he could arrange for us a hotel room so that we could rest and get cleaned up. This he went out of his way to do.
We were collected later that evening by Ahmed who escorted us on to the train, and again we were met the following morning back in Giza by Abdul.
Memphis tours provide an absolutely first class service and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
And as for the sleeper train from Giza to luxor and return, we were taken care of byour sleeper train stewardby Mohammed. He served us dinner both evenings as well as making sure that we were comfortable on more than one occasion. A real gentleman and a credit to the train service.
A fantastic experience all round.
Just completed 5 days, 4 nights in Egypt in Dec 2011 through this tour agency. All correspondence was answered very promptly, they even called me in the USA a couple of times for clarification. I wrote what I wanted to see , in the time we had and they prepared an excellent and very , very reasonably priced trip. A representative meets you at cairo airport, whisks you through and escorts you to the hotel and explains the trip-very impressive! We booked a trip with a private driver and guide- really the way to go! They all were so informative, patient and very willing and able to accommodate change! I requested 2 additional changes to the itinerary while sightseeing and they made it happen!! Flew in country on Egypt Air( which was very safe, despite previous reviews). Felt very safe in Egypt and would return tomorrow!
We arranged 5-day tour w/ Memphis Tours w/ 3 other couples and we had an awesome time there! The guides were very knowledgeable and really helpful - especially Osama and Muhammad in Cairo & Luxor. I was even able to call outside of our official travel days and get help w/ directions! They accommodated all our needs so that we can just enjoy our time there and not worry about anything. The trips were very well-planned too. Loved falucca ride at sunset in Aswan. Wish we stayed longer than a day in Luxor, cuz there were so much to see. Thanks to numerous drivers & guides for making our trip a memorable one! I know who to go to when I come back!

We are very satisfied with the 2 day trip to Cairo and Luxor provided by Memphis Tours. First we were picked up at our Hotel by Ahmed Hussein who took us to Sharm el Sheikh Airport and helped us to check in and board the plane. When Arriving in Cairo, Mohammed Omran Mimmo and our driver for the day. They took us to Giza where we met our guide Maha Mahmoud El Halwagy, who then took us to see the Pyramids and the Sphinx. After this we carried on to a papyrus factory were we where taught how to make papyrus, then we went to an Egyptian cotton shop and a souvenir shop (all verified by the Egyptian government). When we were finished with the shopping we went for lunch at a really nice restaurant next to the Nile. Finally we spent the afternoon in the Egyptian Museum and Maha showed us all kinds of old artifacts knowing every little detail about all the different artifacts. Before it was time to go through Cairo by bus to the airport (which was an adventure itself) for further transport to Luxor. We could not be happier with the day in Cairo, the places we visited were all very interesting, and with Maha being there explaining everything and answering our every little question added yet another level to our experience. We could not be more pleased with Maha Mahmoud El Halwagy, she is an excellent, funny and interesting guide who speaks really good English and is very easy to communicate with, also she is very helpful and giving good tips about what to buy and what to skip/avoid during the trip. After our day together she feels like a personal friend of ours and we would not hesitate to ask for her as a guide if we visit Cairo again in the future.
When we arrived at Luxor we were, once again, picked up by bus at the airport and taken to our four star hotel for the night.
After a night of good sleep, we met our guide, Shaimaa Baheeg, and we were taken by bus to the Valley of kings, there we visited 3 tombs which was selected by our guide according to the paintings, the size and the history of the tombs. Since the guides are not allowed to accompany you in to the tombs, Shaimaa was very kind and instructed us what to look for before entering each tomb, which is very helpful if you are a confused tourist =)
After the Valley of Kings, we went to the Al-Dier Al-Bahari Temple which we followed up with a visit at a local alabaster factory were we got a personal presentation of how they make the different statues and pots out of alabaster and how to distinguish the real handmade ones from the fakes. After this, we went back to Luxor again, and on the way we stopped at two gigantic statues which were the remains of an old temple. In Luxor, we went to a perfume shop and were introduced to the process of making the perfume glass bottle, and also different fragrances which is manufactured into perfumes. After finishing the perfume tour, Shaimaa had already pre-ordered Egyptian food for us, so we simply had to step in to the Restaurant and the starter dish was already waiting for us. The food was really good and it was nice with a break since it was very hot during this day. When the lunch was finished we went to Karnak Temple which is the biggest worshiping ground in the world. There we spent the afternoon and Shaimaa told us a lot of interesting facts and details about the temple which we would have definitely missed if we visited the temple by our selves. Shaimaa Baheeg is a very pleasant guide, and by the end of the day it felt like we had know each other for a long time. She knows a lot of fun facts about Luxor and she is easy to communicate with, and we would definitely hire her as our guide if we come back to Luxor.
After our trip to the Karnak temple, we had some relaxing time at the hotel before the bus came to pick us up and take us to Luxor Airport and our flight back to Sharm el Sheikh. In general, all the bus drivers have been excellent, it has been a real pleasure to travel with them, and even when traffic was hard, we were never worried one single bit.
In summary: We would highly recommend Memphis Tours to arrange your travel, if you use them, everything will be set and ready, and you do not have to worry because everything is taken care of. So we have absolutely nothing negative to say about them, they are friendly and the price you agree on is the price you pay in the end.
Egypt was a stop on a world tour and despite the reservations of some people, we continued with the plans we had made in January. It was a fantastic experience and we got to see Egypt virtually on our own as so many before us had cancelled their trips. Mephis tours did a wonderful job in organising it all. I have to single out our guide in Cairo, Maha - she was so informative, and gave us such an insight into the Egypt of the past as well as the Egypt of today and their hopes for the future. Thank you Maha, we so enjoyed meeting you. Our driver was Mustaffa - the calmest driver in all of Egypt I think - thank you Mustaffa we always felt safe with you driving, and Hussein our tour manager - thank you for getting it right.
This was a very special time to visit this wonderful country and I urge anyone thinking of going to absolutely go - we felt extremely safe at all times and were made so welcome by the Egyptians we met
I also suggest you use Memphis Tours - I could not fault them.
Thanks
Tim
When my wife and I decided that we would visit Egypt so soon after the Revolution, we chose to tour with an experienced and well-reviewed company and soon narrowed the choice to Memphis Tours. We chose to do a private five-day tour of Cairo and Luxor, with drivers and Egyptologist guides for the entire trip.
In Cairo, we visited the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx, the Cairo Museum, Saqqara, Memphis, Daschur and the Khan El Khalili bazaar. In Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, and the Temples of Hatshepsut, Medinat Habu, Karnak and Luxor. It was an ambitious itinerary.
Mr. Abdo Shawky did a great job communicating with us, prior to the tour and arranging the itinerary.
Our Tour leaders, Abd El in Cairo and Ahmed in Luxor were superbly professional, helpful, always available and present. Their calm, good nature made everything happen easily.
Our guides, Sahl (Easy) in Cairo and Oussama in Luxor were entertaining, very knowledgeable and a joy to tour with. We were always able to spend whatever time we wanted wherever we went and never, ever felt rushed.
Saed, our driver in Cairo was an exceptional driver. His calm and very funny nature kept us entertained throughout our trip.
I know we made very good friends with our companions from Memphis Tours. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip because they made it everything we wanted it to be, we saw everything we wanted to see, and they made us feel at home, sharing with us their hopes and dreams, as well. They were exceptionally kind and caring people, who were filled with hope and enthusiasm for Egypt's future. A pretty good combination, I'd say.
Our accommodations everywhere were exceptional. While in Giza, we enjoyed the sumptuous beauty and sheer elegance of the Mena House Oberoi for 2 nights. In Luxor, we stayed at the Sheraton Luxor. It was beautiful and our Nile View room was to die for. On our return to Cairo, the Movenpick Pyramids proved to be a lovely, cool oasis after a hot day of touring.
The only hiccup was that Memphis Tours got our room choices wrong but both the Mena House and the Sheraton fixed that immediately by upgrading us on the spot to our first choices. Memphis Tours responded promptly on both occasions and were prepared to fix things immediately, if the hotels had not already done so. So, no complaints.
I highly recommend this company to anyone planning a trip or excursion. They're the best!

I and my friend booked a 2-day tour of Cairo and Luxor with Memphis Tours. We had such a great time there although the heat was terrible. Our special thanks go to our super-informed and friendly guides, Amr and John. Amr was our guide in Cairo and we were extremely pleased that he was very informed and a pleasure to talk to. Also, John, our guide to Luxor, was an encyclopedia of information, there was nothing we asked that he was unable to answer. We promised them we'd write a review just to let everyone know that it is safe to travel in Egypt and they are waiting for tourists with open arms because they pretty much depend on our support to relaunch their economy, badly shaken by the recent events.

As I wrtie this Egypt is in a time of turmoil which I hope will soon come to an end. Our thoughts are with all the great staff at Memphis tours and we hope that they will stay safe and things will soon settle so many more travellers can enjoy the professional services of this Egyptian tour company.
She has guided us very efficiently, accurately and successfully.
Under her guidance and support, the tours were truly enjoyable with her providing detailed good information and establishing a good and friendly contact with our family.
We highly recommend her for the most demanding of such activities and would specifically ask for her when we return back to Egypt in the near future.
Memphis Tours just need to keep this up!
