Who built it?
This complex was built by Chefren , the owner of the 2nd biggest Pyramid in Giza plateau whose reign lasted for 25 years, longer than his father Cheops .
Why was it built?
This pyramid was built as the ancient Egyptians believe in resurrection. Chefren was buried in this pyramid according to the ancient Egyptian concept of life after death.
Explanation:
This pyramid is slightly smaller than Cheops pyramid. However it appears higher; its original height is 143.5m, the length of each side of its squared base is 215.5 m. Some of its upper parts still retain the remains of limestone blocks, that once covered it all, like all the other pyramids. Its interior is much simpler than the pyramid of Cheops , with two entrances from its northern side.
